Running (Double Pulse)

  • Equipment: Reformer
  • Category: Footwork
  • Level: Beginner
  • Body position: Supine
  • Repetitions: 20-40 reps
  • Springs: 2 Red – 3 Red
  • Headrest: As needed
  • Footbar: High or Low

Starting position

Supine, toes on footbar hip-width and parallel, heels lifted, legs extended, arms by sides, neutral spine.

Instructions

Maintain one leg extended while the opposite heel lowers under the footbar. Perform two small pulsing lowers of the same heel before switching legs. Continue alternating sides in a steady rhythm, using a sniffing breath pattern (inhale–inhale, exhale–exhale). Keep the pelvis stable and the legs long as the heels move, avoiding any bouncing or shifting. Maintain even pressure through the feet and consistent alignment throughout.
