  • Equipment: Reformer
  • Category: Arm Work
  • Level: Beginner
  • Body position: Seated-LongBox
  • Repetitions: 8–12 reps
  • Springs: 1 Blue (Medium) – 1 Red + 1 Blue
  • Headrest: Down
  • Footbar: No bar

Starting position

Sit upright facing the straps, legs straight or crossed. Place the arms through the straps so the straps rest around the elbows / upper forearms. Bend the elbows to about 90 degrees, upper arms parallel to the floor and close to each other, palms facing each other. Sit tall on the sit bones with the chest open

Instructions

Exhale to horizontally open the shoulders, moving the upper arms out to the sides while keeping the elbows bent at 90 degrees and the upper arms level with the floor. Focus first on stabilizing and gently drawing the shoulder blades together, then continue the opening of the arms. Inhale to return the arms forward with control to the starting position
